Hey Arbinauts! Arbitrum Autumn has been going strong and as we crest into November we wanted to share some progress weโ€™ve made towards decentralization. ๐Ÿงต Validator nodes secure the Arbitrum One chain by posting assertions to the state of the chain, and challenging any fraudulent assertions made by other validators. ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ So in anticipation of permissionless validation, we are expanding the validator set.. Today weโ€™re excited to announce an expanded validator set! The broadened group of organizations securing the Arbitrum One chain now include: ConsenSys ๐ŸŒ€ Ethereum Foundation ๐Ÿ’œ L2beat โค๏ธ Mycelium ๐Ÿ„ Offchain Labs (us) P2P Validator โœ”๏ธ QuickNode ๐Ÿ“ Distributed Ledgers Research Centre (DLRC) at Institute for the Future (IFF) ๐Ÿ”ด Unit 410 ๐Ÿงฎ

The new Arbitrum validators represent a variety of organizations and different communities so that many users can have comfort in a diverse set of validators securing the chain! ๐ŸŒโ†”๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ We look forward to continuing to share more around our plans for validation soon! Including some exciting validator protocol updates and fully permissionless validation. ๐Ÿ‘€ This was all made possible by the upgrades we shipped in September that reduced performance costs for validator nodes by more than 90%! โฌ‡๏ธ This heavily reduced the compute costs associated with running validator nodes by making the act of block validation incredibly performant. ๐Ÿ’ช This was a crucial upgrade necessary to enabling decentralization in the long term. Allowing more people to cheaply and easily operate validator nodes that secure rollup chains is a core tenet of mass participation and sustainable decentralization. ๐Ÿ’ป๐ŸŒŽ Decentralization is a long process, and while we're super excited about today's update, weโ€™re even more excited to keep making progress towards further decentralization. Stay tuned across our channels so you can be informed on our upcoming developments! ๐Ÿ˜‰ As always, weโ€™re hiring! So if you want to be a part of the team thatโ€™s building out the future of decentralized scaling solutions visit our careers page below! We can't stress how thankful we are to all of you, our fellow Arbinauts! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก
